Tis The Season......

Ok, so the Christmas season is upon us once again, and is it just me or did you see stores throwing up the Christmas decorations and bragging about "door buster deals" around the time of Halloween? I mean, I remember growing up and they were talking about Christmas deals right around Thanksgiving time, now these money hungry corperations aren't even waiting for Halloween! Come on, Christmas is getting more and more commercialized, it's all about materialism to some people. Gotta get the best, latest, greatest techno gadget out there, etc, etc..... Frankly, it's stupid, at least that's how I view it. What are my friends and family getting for Christmas? Nothing but a card; because me and my wife can't afford to get anyone anything. Thankfully, they understand. The budget is often skimpy when you're newlyweds. But even if we did have boatloads of money, I doubt we would be blowing it on elaborate presents for everyone. I hate the crowds, the greed, the complete lack of respect alot of people have for the real reason for the season..... and that is Jesus Christ. Nowadays, alot of kids are being taught that the decorations, presents, and boat loads of money you should have spent are WAY more important anything else. It's sad really, that people don't often reflect on important spiritual matters such as the birth of the Savior. Jesus is the only one who can save you from this present evil world and give you more happiness than some stupid $500 i-Pad!! So tis the season that a few of us will remember the love of a truely merciful God in the giving of His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ; while the rest of the world will only focus on the love of material possessions and throw the best present they can ever receive on the back burner.
